J&K Land Records System Offline Since May
The Land Records Information System in Jammu and Kashmir, which was launched in 2021 to make land records accessible to the public, has been offline since May 2024.
This system was created to bring transparency and accountability to land records.
However, during a security operation called Operation Sindoor, many government websites, including this one, went offline.
The Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency has been working to restore these websites, but some, like the Land Records Information System, are still not working.
The reason given is that these websites did not pass a security check called the 'Safe Host' certification.
This has caused problems for people who need to access land records, as they now have to go through government officials instead of using the online system.
The Land Records Information System in Jammu and Kashmir has been offline since May 2024 due to Operation Sindoor.
The system was launched in 2021 to digitize and provide public access to land and property records.
Over 8 crore pages of revenue records and 55,000 maps were digitized under this program.
The Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency has restored most government portals, but key ones like the Land Records Information System remain inaccessible.
The delay in restoration is attributed to the failure of departments to obtain the mandatory 'Safe Host' certification after a security audit.
