MSEDCL Intensifies ₹436 Crore Dues Recovery Drive Post-Diwali
Imagine your electricity company, called MSEDCL, wants to get paid for the power everyone has used.
After the big festivals like Diwali, when people might have been busy or forgotten, MSEDCL is working extra hard to collect the money that's owed.
They have a lot of money to collect, about 436 crore rupees, from people who use electricity but haven't paid their bills.
To help them collect, they have made special teams.
They are asking everyone to pay their old bills and the new ones so they don't have to turn off the power.
If the power is turned off, it costs extra money to turn it back on.
MSEDCL has intensified its electricity bill recovery drive in November to collect ₹436 crore in pending dues.
The drive targets non-agricultural consumers in the Pune circle who have outstanding bills.
Recovery teams have been formed with specific collection targets for each employee.
As of November 6, over 8.44 lakh consumers in the Pune circle are in arrears.
Consumers with unpaid bills risk power disconnection and will face reconnection fees.
