Ganesh Idol Immersions Continue Despite Cyclone Rains In Kakinada
People in Kakinada continued taking Ganesh idols for immersion even though it was raining heavily.
The rain was caused by a cyclone in the area.
Some processions were delayed on Wednesday, but many took place on Thursday.
In two days, people immersed 1,004 idols.
Six hundred of those idols were immersed on Thursday.
Processions included dancing, prayers and cultural performances.
Organisers also served free food to many people during the festival.
Officials said more immersions would happen on Saturday.
