Thirteen Union Members Booked After Protest Outside Lilavati Hospital

Thirteen people from a workers’ union have been named in a police case.

The union wanted to protest changes to workers’ jobs at Lilavati Hospital.

Police said they had told the union not to hold the march because the hospital is a sensitive medical facility and in a silence zone.

On October 5, about 10 to 15 workers gathered near the hospital gate.

Police stopped them there.

Discussions involving the union, hospital, contractor and police continued until about 5:35 pm.

Police allege the members stayed near the gate and caused inconvenience to patients.

The allegations have not been established, and the investigation is continuing.
