Bihar CM Surveys Flood-Hit Border Areas After Nepal Deluge
Bihar’s chief minister flew over areas near the Nepal border to check flooding.
He looked at Bagaha, Valmiki Nagar, Bettiah, Motihari, and the Gandak River.
Floodwater from Nepal entered the Gandak River and reached a barrage in Bihar.
Officials opened all 36 gates of the barrage to help manage the water.
The water flowing through the barrage later decreased.
Officials said people living near the river were moved to safer places.
They also prepared food and other supplies for people who needed help.
Nepal suffered major damage and deaths, but reports gave different numbers for those killed and missing.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected border areas on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The survey covered Bagaha, Valmiki Nagar, Bettiah, Motihari, and the Gandak River basin.
