Former Rwandan Official Charged Over 1994 Genocide in Britain

Vincent Brown appeared in a court in London.

He used to be known as Vincent Bajinya.

Prosecutors charged him over events during Rwanda’s 1994 genocide.

They say he encouraged attacks against Tutsis.

They also accuse him of ordering six killings.

The genocide lasted 100 days.

More than 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed.

Brown’s case is the first genocide-related prosecution of its kind in Britain.
