Iran warns Strait of Hormuz stays closed until US conditions met
Iran controls a very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz.
It is like a narrow door that ships use to pass through.
Iran's leader in parliament said this door will stay closed for ships.
It will only open when America keeps its promises.
Those promises include stopping sanctions and military actions against Iran.
Iran says America has not kept its promises yet.
The two countries made a special agreement to talk instead of fighting.
But the talks have not solved their problems.
Iran says it is ready and strong if America continues to act against it.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the Strait of Hormuz will stay closed to maritime traffic until all Iranian conditions in the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding with the US are met.
Ghalibaf tied reopening to the US lifting the blockade, releasing frozen assets, lifting oil sanctions, and ending threats and military operations on all fronts.
He warned that Iran is ready to impose a heavier defeat on the enemy in proportion to its actions and aggressions.
The UK's Maritime Trade Operations reported a vessel was struck by an unknown projectile during an outbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz, damaging its engine room and causing a crew casualty.
The conclusion of the 60 days leaves core disagreements unresolved, with Tehran linking normalised traffic to an end to the blockade, troop withdrawals, and reparations.
