Trump's four-point Iran letter links nuclear deal to concessions

Donald Trump sent Iran a letter describing a possible nuclear agreement.

The plan asks Iran to stop enriching uranium and dismantle its nuclear weapons programme.

It also asks Iran to stop supporting groups such as Hezbollah and the Houthis.

Iran would have to make these changes permanently and allow international inspectors to verify them.

The plan also asks Iran to stop transferring ballistic missiles and related technology to other groups.

In return, the United States would lift sanctions and restore diplomatic and business ties.

Trump also offered security promises and support for peaceful nuclear energy without enrichment.

Iran has not publicly answered the letter.

Oman helped deliver the message between the two countries.
