West Bengal Police to Increase Security for Durga Puja
The police in West Bengal are getting ready for Durga Puja, the biggest festival.
They are adding 10,000 to 15,000 extra police officers to help keep everyone safe.
These officers will be in place starting from the beginning of the festival, which is called Mahalaya.
They'll be managing crowds and traffic, not just during the main days but also for the celebrations that follow.
The police want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time.
Since Durga Puja was recognized by UNESCO, they are expecting even more people this year.
West Bengal Police will deploy 10,000-15,000 additional personnel.
Deployment begins from Mahalaya, the start of the festival season.
Focus includes the Puja days and subsequent carnivals.
Traffic management will be a key priority throughout the celebrations.
Authorities anticipate record crowds due to UNESCO recognition.
