Uttarakhand BJP Discusses Potential Names for Rajya Sabha Election
The BJP in Uttarakhand met to discuss who should become the next member of the Rajya Sabha.
The state has only one Rajya Sabha seat.
The current member, Naresh Bansal, will finish his term.
About 24 people are being considered for the position.
The names include people from different groups, such as women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and young people.
Three senior BJP leaders will choose a shorter list of three or five names.
The election is planned for October 16.
Party leaders also asked workers to explain government policies and work toward winning the 2027 Assembly election.
