New Zealand's Massive Win Doesn't Boost WTC Points
New Zealand won a cricket match against Zimbabwe by a huge amount, but it doesn't change their ranking in the World Test Championship.
This is because Zimbabwe isn't in the top group of teams that are part of this championship.
Only the top nine teams get to compete in this championship.
Australia is currently at the top of the standings.
New Zealand defeated Zimbabwe by an innings and 359 runs in the second Test.
Despite the victory being one of New Zealand's largest, it won't impact the ICC World Test Championship standings.
Zimbabwe is not among the top nine teams participating in the World Test Championship.
The nine teams in the WTC, as of March 31, 2018, include Australia, England, India, and New Zealand.
Australia currently leads the WTC standings after winning all three matches against the West Indies.
