Bengaluru to Crack Down on Illegal Construction Waste Dumping
Bengaluru is making it harder for people to throw away building waste on the streets.
The city will now require anyone who wants to tear down a building to register the project first.
If they dump waste illegally, they can be fined.
The city will also charge a fee of Rs 760 for each tonne of waste that is properly taken away.
The plan also says that trucks that move garbage must have GPS so the city can see where they go.
All of this is to keep Bengaluru clean and safe.
GBA will enforce mandatory registration for demolition projects citywide.
New rules impose penalties for unauthorized dumping of C&D waste on public spaces.
Standard disposal charge set at Rs 760 per tonne for authorized transporters.
Urban Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda plans GPS mandatory for waste transport vehicles.
Initiative aims to improve waste management, reduce illegal dumping, and protect city cleanliness.
