Telangana Students Urge High Court Over School Shortages

Telangana Students Urge High Court Over School Shortages

About 20,000 students in Telangana government schools wrote postcards to the High Court.

They said their schools do not have enough teachers or important facilities.

These facilities include safe drinking water, separate toilets, libraries and science laboratories.

Some schools also lack playgrounds, sports equipment and enough classrooms.

Some students said they have trouble travelling to school.

One student reportedly walks about four kilometres each way because there is no bus service.

Civil society groups want the court to investigate the complaints.

They also want the government to improve schools so children can learn safely and regularly.
