AUA College of Medicine Launches New Trimester Program for Indian Students
The American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine is changing how it admits students.
Instead of starting only once a year, they'll now accept students three times a year: in May, September, and January.
This means students can start their medical studies sooner.
It also makes the program a bit shorter, saving money on things like housing.
The university is trying to make it easier for students from India to become doctors, especially those who want to practice in the USA, Canada, or the UK.
Students can also get more experience with global health through a special program.
American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine will transition to a trimester schedule.
The new schedule will have three intakes a year: May, September, and January.
The change will reduce the MD program duration from 6.5 years to 6 years.
Students can potentially apply for residency programs up to a year earlier.
The program is for students who want to practice medicine in the USA, Canada, or the UK.
