Andhra Pradesh Minister Pledges Cabinet Proposal on Advocates Protection Act

Advocates from across Andhra Pradesh met the state’s Law and Justice Minister, NMD Farooq.

They asked the government to put the Advocates Protection Act into effect.

They also requested stipends for eligible junior advocates and a higher age limit for the Advocates Welfare Fund.

Farooq said the proposal for the protection act had already received Finance Department approval.

He said it would be taken to the State Cabinet, preferably within 15 days.

He described this assurance as a commitment from the state government.

He also said he would tell Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu about the stipend request.

The government will examine raising the welfare fund’s age limit from 35 to 40.
