Thoothukudi Airport Expansion Set to Boost South TN Industry
Imagine a bigger and better airport in Thoothukudi is opening soon!
It's been made bigger to handle more planes and people, like a much-improved bus station.
This is important because lots of new factories and businesses are starting in the area, which means more people need to fly in and out.
The airport will be able to handle big planes that carry many people.
It will also have international connections, making it easier for people to travel to places like Colombo and the Maldives.
This should help the local economy grow even more.
Thoothukudi Airport's ₹381 crore redevelopment will be inaugurated on July 26 by Prime Minister Modi.
The renovated airport can accommodate larger aircraft, including those with up to 250 passengers.
The new terminal will span 17,341 sq m and handle 1,400 passengers per hour.
The airport upgrade supports industrial projects worth over ₹45,000 crore in the region.
Long-distance flights to Delhi and Mumbai will be added after the upgrade.
