Ujjain Residents Seek Action Over Alleged Groundwater Pollution

Ujjain Residents Seek Action Over Alleged Groundwater Pollution

People living in Parshwanath City near Ujjain say their groundwater looks and smells wrong.

They brought samples to the Collector’s office to show officials.

They believe waste from nearby factories may be getting into the ground.

They say about 90 water sources in the colony rely on tube-wells.

Residents said they had contacted several government departments for nearly three months.

They asked officials to test water from the colony and nearby industrial area at different laboratories.

They also want suspected waste-disposal points recorded and the alleged disposal stopped.

Officials were asked to act so the area does not face a problem like Bhagirathpura.
