Pune ACB Arrests Constable for Bribery in Murder Case
A police constable in Pune was arrested for asking for a bribe.
He wanted ₹25,000 from a woman to help her son get bail in a murder case.
The constable promised to make the charges against her son less serious so he could get out of jail.
The woman complained to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), and they checked the story.
They found out the constable was the one asking for the money, not another police officer involved.
The ACB then arrested the constable.
Police Constable Ramesh Laxman Nagtilak (42) arrested for demanding a ₹25,000 bribe.
Bribe was to secure early bail and a lenient chargesheet for a murder suspect.
Complaint filed by a 46-year-old woman with the Pune ACB on 18th January.
ACB verified the bribe demand and found only Nagtilak was involved.
Nagtilak was stationed at the Karanje Bridge Police Outpost under Vadgaon Nimbalkar Police Station.
