Google Photos may add backup scheduling
Google Photos is working on a new feature that might let you choose when your photos and videos back up.
Right now, the app backs up whenever it finds an internet connection, which can be annoying if it happens at the wrong time.
The new feature, called Backup schedule, could let you set backups to happen daily, weekly, or monthly, or even at specific times like night or when you're not using your phone.
This would be a big help because backups can use a lot of data and battery, especially with high-quality photos and videos.
The feature is not available yet, but it's being tested in the app.
Google is also working on making the backup settings page easier to use.
We don't know exactly when this feature will be available, but it's something to look forward to if you use Google Photos a lot.
Google Photos is developing a Backup schedule feature to let users choose when backups occur.
The feature is currently in testing and not available to the public.
Potential options include daily, weekly, monthly, or timed backups.
The current backup controls are limited to on/off, Wi-Fi only, and folder selection.
Google is also redesigning the Backup settings page for a clearer and more organized interface.
