PML-N wins PoK polls amid violence and rigging claims
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won the first phase of elections in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), securing nine out of 13 seats.
The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) won the remaining four seats.
However, the elections were marred by allegations of rigging and violence.
The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) claimed that 14 of its activists were killed and many more were injured in clashes with law enforcement.
India criticized the elections, calling them an attempt by Pakistan to legitimize its illegal occupation of the region and hide human rights violations.
