Gehlot Accuses Rajasthan Plantation Scam, Demands Inquiry
Ashok Gehlot, who used to run Rajasthan, says the new government is cheating people in a tree‑planting program.
He wants a special investigation.
He says the old Congress government grew a lot of forest land, while the new BJP government didn’t keep that progress.
He points to a report that shows Rajasthan added 394 square kilometers of forest while it was led by Congress.
He also says Rajasthan was the fourth best state in the country for adding forest and made up 27 percent of all new forest in India.
Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot accuses the BJP government of a scam in the state’s plantation drive.
Gehlot demands a formal inquiry into the alleged wrongdoing.
He claims the BJP failed to continue the Congress legacy of increasing green cover.
The India State of Forest Report 2023 shows Rajasthan’s forest cover rose 394.46 sq km during the Congress tenure.
