Bondada Engineering Wins 100 MWh Battery Storage Order
Bondada Engineering has won a big order to build a new type of battery storage system in Gujarat.
This system, called a Vanadium Redox Flow Battery, is the first and largest of its kind in India.
It will help store energy from solar power and can last over 25 years.
The project is important because it uses technology that India can produce itself, reducing the need to import parts.
The Indian government wants to build a lot more of these storage systems in the next few years to support renewable energy.
Bondada Engineering has secured a 100 MWh VRFB BESS project from NTPC REL.
The project is located at Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat and includes 10 years of O&M.
Delectrik Systems Pvt Ltd is the technology partner for the project.
VRFB technology offers advantages like a 25+ year service life and high safety.
India aims to deploy 236 GWh of battery storage by 2030, showing significant market growth.
