Cholera Deaths Rose 30% in 2025, WHO Reports

Cholera is a disease that can make people very sick.

The World Health Organization said cholera deaths increased in 2025.

Deaths were 30% higher than before.

The number of deaths was the highest recorded since 1999.

Forty-seven countries reported cholera cases.

Together, they reported 451,499 cases and 7,870 deaths.

The WHO warned that the real numbers may be higher.

This is because some cholera cases are never reported.
