Hyderabad Cracks Down on Unlicensed Street Food Units
In Hyderabad, a team called H-FAST and city food safety officers went to a neighborhood called Attapur on July 28, 2026.
They found several street food factories that were making snacks like samosas and pani puri without proper licenses and with bad hygiene.
The officers threw away 25 kilograms of the food to keep people safe.
They also looked at a soya chunk factory in Jalpally and found it was not clean, so they destroyed that food too.
The owners will face legal trouble under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
H-FAST and GHMC officials raided multiple street food manufacturing units in Attapur on July 28, 2026.
Units operated without valid licenses, had poor hygiene, and used substandard raw materials.
Authorities discarded 25 kg of ready‑to‑eat food (10 kg samosas, 15 kg pani puri/golgappe) on the spot.
Legal proceedings were initiated under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Separate inspection of Urvi Food Products in Jalpally revealed severe hygiene violations and led to destruction of soya chunks.
