India Achieves Major Power Status
India has become a major power in Asia according to the Asia Power Index-2025.
This is because India's economy is growing and its military is getting stronger, especially after a recent operation called Operation Sindoor.

It's doing well in economic and future resources but needs to improve its defence networks.
India is also attracting a lot of investment from other countries.
However, there's still a gap between what India wants to achieve and what it's actually doing, especially compared to China.
India achieved major power status on the Asia Power Index-2025 with a score of 40 points.
Ranked third in Asia, behind the US and China, with strong economic and military capabilities.
India's economic capability rank improved to third, overtaking Japan.
India's military capability improved due to its performance in Operation Sindoor.
India's weakest measure is defence networks, ranking 11th, with a decline from the previous edition.
