Cherries from Kashmir Shipped to Mumbai by Parcel Train
Imagine a train carrying a big load of yummy cherries!
This train started its journey from Jammu and Kashmir and is heading to Mumbai.
The train is carrying 24 tons of fresh cherries.
This is a special event because it's helping farmers get their fruits to market faster.
The train ride is a good way to get the cherries to stores before they go bad.
The farmers are happy about this, but they also want a train that can pick up cherries directly from their area.
The railway company is working with the farmers to make this happen.
A parcel train carried 24 tonnes of cherries from Jammu and Kashmir to Mumbai.
The train departed from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station on Saturday.
The initiative was a collaboration between railway authorities, fruit growers, and the horticulture department.
Fruit growers hope for direct rail access from stations within Kashmir soon.
The direct rail service between Katra and Srinagar was delayed due to weather.
