Child critically injured in bomb blast in Basanti

A young boy named Kalo Gayen was badly hurt in a bomb explosion at a house in Basanti, West Bengal.

He was playing near the house of Anar Sheikh, a political worker, when the bomb went off.

Kalo suffered serious injuries to his hand and eyes and was taken to a hospital in Kolkata.

The explosion happened because of a long-standing fight between the Sheikh and Gayen families over a piece of land where a local club is situated.

The families were supposed to have a meeting to settle the dispute, but the explosion happened before that could happen.

People in the area say that bombs were being made in Anar Sheikh's house to scare others.

This is not the first time there has been violence between these families.

In 2019, a member of the Sheikh family was killed.

The police are now investigating the incident.

Some political leaders are blaming the ruling party for the poor law and order situation, but the local MLA says it is just a local dispute.
