BSF Receives Cadre Boost Following Operation Sindoor Success
The Indian government has decided to give the Border Security Force (BSF) a boost by reviewing its staff and adding more positions.
This is the first time this has happened.
The goal is to improve how the BSF works, especially after their successful Operation Sindoor, which got them a lot of praise.
The changes will add about 4,000 new jobs, mostly for supervisors, and give people in the BSF more chances to get promoted.
This shows that the government sees the BSF as very important for protecting India's borders.
The BSF was created in 1965 after the government realized the police were not equipped to handle armed attacks.
The Indian government approved the first-ever cadre review for BSF Group 'B' and 'C' personnel.
The review will add nearly 4,000 posts to the BSF, focusing on supervisory roles and promotions.
This decision follows the BSF's role in Operation Sindoor, which received praise from officials.
Mid-level ranks like Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors will see an increase in sanctioned strength.
The BSF was established on December 1, 1965, after the inadequacy of the State Armed Police Battalion was exposed in the 1965 Kutch attack.
