Aerocity Metro Station Upgrade for Interchange Hub
The Aerocity Metro Station in Delhi is getting a big upgrade.
It will become a hub where people can easily switch between different metro lines.
This includes the Airport Express Line and a new line called the Golden Line.
The Golden Line is being extended to reach Terminal 1 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
This will make it easier for people living in areas like Tughlakabad, Ambedkar Nagar, and Khanpur to get to the airport.
The station will be deeper and longer than usual to handle more people moving between lines.
This upgrade is part of a bigger plan to improve Delhi's metro system.
The station is also being planned to connect with a future metro line to Alwar, making it a triple interchange station.
This means more people will be able to travel to different parts of Delhi and beyond more easily.
Aerocity Metro Station is being upgraded to become an interchange hub as part of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 expansion.
The station will integrate the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Golden Line, a new corridor under construction.
Approval has been granted to extend the Golden Line to Terminal 1 of IGI Airport, adding 2.263 kilometers to the network.
The upgraded station will allow seamless transfers between the Airport Express Line and the Golden Line, with platforms at a depth of 22 meters.
The Golden Line station at Aerocity will be longer than standard interchange stations, extending to nearly 290 meters.
