Supreme Court Orders Nationwide Action on Unmanaged Solid Waste

Supreme Court Orders Nationwide Action on Unmanaged Solid Waste

The Supreme Court made rules for handling garbage more carefully across the country.

Large places such as malls, hotels, hospitals, and housing societies produce a lot of waste.

They must separate, store, and hand over their waste safely.

Officials have six weeks to identify these large waste producers.

If they do not follow the rules, their water or electricity may be temporarily disconnected.

The services can return after the institution proves it is following the rules.

Officials must use photographs and monthly reports to track waste management.

Schools and colleges will also teach students how to manage waste.
