Punjab CM Demands Reopening of Kartarpur Corridor
The leader of Punjab, a state in India, visited a famous temple to celebrate a Sikh holiday.
He asked the national government to reopen a special path, called the Kartarpur corridor, that connects India to a very important religious site in Pakistan.
He said this path should be open because India is already playing cricket matches and trading with Pakistan.
He also mentioned that people visiting from India can only stay for a short time, and he wants them to have more time to pray.
He believes reopening this path will help people visit the holy place and also bring peace and jobs through trade.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann visited the Golden Temple on Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary.
Mann urged the central government to unilaterally reopen the Kartarpur corridor.
He cited ongoing trade and cricket matches with Pakistan as reasons for reopening.
Mann highlighted that devotees currently have limited time at Kartarpur Sahib.
He also expressed support for resuming trade with Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah route, emphasizing job creation and trade expansion.
