BJP and SP clash over voter deletions
Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, said that the BJP in Uttar Pradesh is having internal fights.
He believes this is because many voters' names were removed from the list, and most of them were BJP supporters.
He thinks this will make the BJP lose a lot of votes in the next election.
He also said that BJP members are unhappy because they feel their work is not being recognized, and they are blaming each other for it.
On the other hand, Brajesh Pathak, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, said that no valid voters were deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
He accused the opposition of misleading people and creating unnecessary controversy over the issue.
He also said that the exercise was aimed at ensuring a transparent and accurate voter list.
Akhilesh Yadav claims BJP infighting is due to 2.89 crore voters' names being deleted.
He alleges 85-90% of deleted voters were BJP supporters.
Yadav calculates BJP could lose 61,000 votes per seat in Uttar Pradesh.
Brajesh Pathak denies any valid voters were deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Pathak accuses the opposition of misleading people and creating unnecessary controversy over the issue.
