Court Extends Custody as Tulu Mondal Property Probe Expands
A court in Suri ordered a government land-office clerk to remain with police for three more days.
Police want to ask him more questions about land documents.
Investigators say he handled papers for hundreds of properties connected to businessman Tulu Mondal and his associates.
Five other accused people were sent to jail custody for 14 days.
One accused person became ill and was taken to a hospital.
Police also searched homes linked to Saigal Hossain and Prabir Das.
Earlier, cash, gold and land deeds were reportedly found at a property linked to Hossain.
Tulu Mondal is currently missing, and police are trying to find him while investigating the alleged network.
The Suri court extended head clerk Prabir Das’s police custody by three days.
Investigators say Das processed land documents involving about 200 to 300 properties linked to Tulu Mondal and associates.
Five other accused were sent to 14 days of judicial custody after their bail pleas were rejected.
Police raided properties linked to Saigal Hossain and Prabir Das, seizing documents and examining alleged financial links.
Tulu Mondal remains absconding as investigators probe alleged cash, gold and property networks and try to trace him.
