Tata Motors Rises to No. 2 in India's PV Market

Tata Motors has moved up to the second position in India's passenger vehicle market for the first eight months of 2026.

This is a big jump from the fourth position they held last year.

They sold a lot more cars, about 494,370, which is a 37.2% increase from last year.

Most of these sales came from their regular fuel cars, but their electric vehicles also did very well, with an 85.5% increase in sales.

Tata's market share went up to 14.29%, and they also have the largest share in the electric vehicle market at 40.73%.

This growth was helped by their new and refreshed car models like the Punch, Nexon, and others.

Other companies like Mahindra and Hyundai saw smaller increases in sales, while Maruti Suzuki remains the market leader.
