Indian Army's 2025 Offensive and Self-Reliance
In 2025, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor after a big terror attack in Pahalgam.
This operation was very careful and targeted terrorist bases across the border.
The Army destroyed nine terrorist camps and stopped many terrorists from entering India.
They also stopped drone attacks from Pakistan using special defense systems.
The Army also encouraged soldiers to come up with new ideas through a program called Inno-Yoddha.
Many soldiers shared their ideas, and the best ones were chosen to be developed further.
The Army also made most of their ammunition in India, which is a big step towards being self-reliant.
They also started using more drones for different tasks.
Overall, 2025 was a year where the Army balanced fighting current threats while also preparing for the future with new technology and self-made equipment.
The Army used many different weapons made in India, like drones, missiles, and air defense systems, to protect the country and show their strength.
Operation Sindoor was launched in May 2025 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, focusing on precision and restraint.
The Indian Army successfully countered retaliatory drone attacks using integrated air defense and counter-UAS systems.
Inno-Yoddha initiative saw 89 innovations submitted by soldiers, with 32 selected for further development.
The Army achieved 91% indigenisation of its ammunition inventory and inducted various unmanned aerial systems.
The Army Commanders’ Conference in Jaisalmer focused on grey-zone warfare, jointness, and future-ready forces.
