Chandra resigns as Tata Sons chairman after transformative decade

Natarajan Chandrasekaran, who everyone calls Chandra, was the boss of a very big group of companies in India called Tata.

Tata makes many different things, like software, cars and steel, and it also runs an airline.

Chandra became the head of Tata in 2017.

People say he did a great job because the group's money nearly doubled and its profits tripled.

He bought an airline called Air India and started new businesses in electronics, computer chips and online shopping.

But some of the new businesses lost a lot of money, which was not good.

There was also a very sad crash of an Air India plane in 2025 in which more than 270 people died.

Chandra said it was the most heartbreaking moment of his career.

After about ten years, he decided to leave his job.

He leaves at a time when the people who control Tata disagree about how the company should be run.
