FDA Seizes 50.65 Lakh Rupees, Suspends 21 Pune Food Licences
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Pune stopped 21 restaurants and food shops from operating because they were not following safety rules.
They also took away about 50 lakh rupees worth of food that might be unsafe or mislabeled.
The FDA checked these places from July 23 to July 28 as part of a big safety campaign.
They found things like ghee, sugar, milk, and snacks that could be harmful.
The seized food will be tested in a lab, and the FDA will keep working to make sure food is safe for people.
FDA Pune Division suspended licences of 21 food establishments in Pune, Satara, and Kolhapur.
₹50.65 lakh worth of suspected adulterated food products were seized during inspections.
Inspections were conducted July 23–28, 2024 under the "Safe Food, Safe Drug, Safe Maharashtra" campaign.
Seized items included ghee, jaggery, sugar, milk, oil, curd, paneer, snacks, biscuits, and confectionery.
