Students Challenge Jharkhand Government After JPSC Exam Stay

The Jharkhand government cancelled several public-service examinations because of alleged irregularities.

Newly appointed officers disagreed with that decision and asked the High Court to intervene.

The High Court temporarily stopped the cancellation of the 11th to 13th JPSC examinations and appointments.

This means the government’s cancellation order cannot proceed while the case is considered.

Student leaders Devendra Nath Mahto and Ravindra Paswan said they respected the court but criticized the government’s arguments.

They questioned why the Advocate General was absent and why the CID investigation report was not properly presented.

They also said the government had promised students that the exams would be cancelled and investigated.

Mahto warned that peaceful protests would continue if students were misled.

Paswan said students would intensify their protest and burn the Chief Minister’s effigy across all 24 districts.
