Yash’s Toxic Telangana Bookings Await Government Approval
Yash’s new movie Toxic is supposed to come to cinemas tomorrow.
However, people in Telangana still cannot book tickets online.
The filmmakers asked the Telangana government for permission to raise ticket prices.
They say they sent the request about a week ago.
The government is checking these requests more carefully after a deadly crowd accident at a Pushpa 2 premiere.
The accident killed a woman named Revathi and badly injured her young son, Sri Tej.
Toxic is already attracting many ticket bookings in northern parts of India and Mumbai.
The filmmakers hope that higher ticket prices will help the expensive movie earn back its cost quickly.
Bookings for Yash’s Toxic have not opened on BookMyShow in Telangana, despite the film’s release being scheduled for tomorrow.
The makers reportedly submitted their request a week ago and are awaiting the Telangana government’s response.
The producers are seeking approval for higher ticket prices, following similar permissions granted in several northern states.
The government is scrutinizing ticket-price-hike applications after a stampede at a Pushpa 2 premiere in Hyderabad killed Revathi and injured her son Sri Tej.
Toxic has reportedly sold about 136,000–137,000 tickets in Mumbai in the past 24 hours, with national-chain advances reaching 200,000–210,000 tickets.
