Seven Reasons Parents Should Not Ignore a Tired Child

Children sometimes feel tired after a busy day, but being tired for many weeks may be a sign that something needs attention.

Poor-quality sleep can make a child exhausted even if they sleep for many hours.

Snoring or pauses in breathing may interrupt sleep without the child knowing it.

Low iron, thyroid problems, screens before bed, and irregular meals can also affect energy.

Stress or sadness may appear as tiredness in children.

Parents should watch for changes in mood, schoolwork, growth, appetite, or favorite activities.

If tiredness lasts more than two or three weeks or comes with other changes, a pediatrician can help.

A basic blood test may identify some common causes.
