Rangiya Division Achieves Full Electrification Milestone
The Rangiya Division of the Northeast Frontier Railway has completely switched to using electricity for its trains.
This means all the train lines in this area now use electric power.
Before this change, inspectors checked the railway lines and ran a test with an electric train to make sure everything was working correctly.
This change makes the trains faster and more dependable while also saving money.
It also helps the environment by reducing the use of fuels that pollute the air, which is part of a larger plan to make Indian Railways have zero carbon emissions.
Rangiya Division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) achieves 100% electrification.
The electrification was confirmed after statutory inspections and a successful electric locomotive trial run.
The Gauripur-Abhayapuri section, spanning 84.57 route kilometers, was inspected.
Electrification is expected to improve train speed, reliability, and operational costs.
This initiative supports Indian Railways' goal of net-zero carbon emissions.
