Fitch Revises Adani Ports, Adani Energy Outlook to Stable
Fitch, a company that assesses financial health, has improved its outlook for two Adani companies, Adani Ports and Adani Energy.
Previously, Fitch was concerned due to risks affecting the entire Adani group, including a US investigation involving some executives.
However, Fitch now sees these risks as reduced because the companies have found various ways to get money and have continued their business projects.
Additionally, India's financial regulator, SEBI, recently stated that the Adani companies did not break any rules related to what a short-seller had claimed.
Because of these positive developments, Fitch has changed its outlook for these companies from 'Negative' to 'Stable', indicating they are now considered more financially sound and reliable.
Fitch also reaffirmed their existing credit rating of 'BBB-'.
Fitch Ratings has revised the outlook on Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd to 'Stable' from 'Negative'.
The rating agency affirmed the long-term issuer default ratings for both companies at 'BBB-'.
Fitch cited easing contagion risks across the Adani Group, improved access to funding, and a SEBI ruling that found no violations of disclosure norms or market manipulation.
Adani Ports is expected to maintain total debt-to-EBITDA below 2.5x through FY29, while Adani Energy's leverage is forecast to ease after FY26.
The companies benefit from robust cash flows, continued investment momentum, stable regulatory frameworks, and adequate liquidity.
