Two police officers stabbed in Toulouse in suspected terror attack
In the city of Toulouse in France, a man attacked two police officers with a knife.
The officers were doing their job when the attack happened.
The mayor of the city said the man said things that sounded like terrorism.
The police caught the man very quickly.
The two officers were taken to a hospital to be treated.
One officer was hurt in the neck and needed stitches.
Another officer, a woman, was stabbed three times, but her special bulletproof vest helped stop the knife.
News reports say the man shouted a religious phrase, but that has not been officially confirmed.
Officials do not yet know why he did it or if he was part of a group.
Knife attacks like this have happened in France before, because knives are easier for bad people to get than guns.
Two police officers were stabbed in a knife attack in the Rue d'Austerlitz neighbourhood of Toulouse, France, on Monday.
Toulouse Mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc said the attacker made "statements of a terrorist nature" and was arrested quickly.
Both injured officers were taken to Rangueil University Hospital; one was stabbed in the neck and required several stitches.
CNews reported the female officer was stabbed three times, but her bulletproof vest stopped most of the blows.
Authorities have not identified the attacker, disclosed a motive, or confirmed group affiliation; CNews (unconfirmed) said the attacker shouted 'Allahu Akbar'.
