Bengaluru Vendors Protest Over Delayed ID Cards
Street vendors in Bengaluru are upset because they haven't received their ID cards even though they were supposed to get them after a survey last year.
They say the cards were already printed but not given to them.
The vendors also complain that the police are harassing them, especially after the city's municipal body was split into five parts.
They also mention that dirty water from drains is being left on the roads and that they are being fined unfairly.
The vendors want new committees to be formed to help them, workshops for officials about their rights, money for shelters to protect them from bad weather, and free access to toilets.
They even say that some vendors were recently forced to leave their spots.
If their demands are not met, they might protest.

Vendors allege harassment by police post-BBMP reorganization and illegal fines in certain areas.
Issues include non-dumping of drain silt on roadsides and eviction of vendors from Munireddypalya market.
Union demands formation of new town vending committees, orientation workshops, budget allocation for shelters, free access to public toilets, and a grievance redressal committee.
Vendors warn of protests if their demands are not met, citing a court protection order against evictions.
