G20 Sapling: African Mahogany Replacement to be Planted
During the G20 summit, Nigeria gifted a tree that was supposed to be African Mahogany, but it died.
So, officials planted a Jamun tree in its place to make the area look nice.
People noticed and posted about it online.
Now, a new African Mahogany tree is on its way.
Some other countries had similar problems with their trees, too.
They are also getting replacements.
The original African Mahogany sapling gifted by Nigeria at the G20 Summit failed after planting.
A Jamun tree was temporarily planted as a substitute to maintain the site's aesthetics.
A replacement African Mahogany sapling has been sourced and will be planted soon.
The issue was brought to light by a post on X by DelhiTrees.
Other saplings, including those from South Korea and South Africa, also required replacement.
