BSF Seizes Gold, Arrests Two Smugglers
The Border Security Force (BSF) in West Bengal caught two people trying to smuggle gold from Bangladesh into India.
They found four gold biscuits worth over Rs 67 lakh.
The BSF got a tip that someone was trying to smuggle gold, so they were ready when a man came from Bangladesh.
He had the gold hidden in plastic packets.
The BSF took him to a village where he pointed out the other smuggler.
Both were arrested and handed over to the authorities.
The BSF also asked people living near the border to help stop smuggling by calling their helpline.
BSF arrested two smugglers and seized 510 grams of gold worth Rs 67,37,100 along the India-Bangladesh border in Nadia district, West Bengal.
The smugglers were caught based on intelligence inputs and were attempting to hide the gold in dense bamboo clumps.
The first smuggler was apprehended near the border and led the BSF to the second smuggler in Rangiapota village.
Both individuals were handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
The BSF urged border residents to report smuggling activities through their helpline or WhatsApp, promising rewards and confidentiality.
