Himachal Hills Academy Produces World Cup Winners
In the hills of Himachal Pradesh, there is a special school for girls who love cricket.
This school, called the HPCA residential academy, was started in 2009.
It helps girls from different parts of Himachal to become better cricketers.
The school takes care of everything, from food and training to education.
It has produced four international cricketers, including two who won the World Cup.
The school is very important because it gives girls a chance to play cricket even if they come from places where resources are scarce.
The people who run the school work hard to make sure the girls are safe and happy.
They understand that girls face different kinds of pressures and need special care.
The school has moved to different places over the years to give the girls more opportunities to play.
Even though it is sometimes hard to run the school, the people there believe that more girls will want to play cricket because of the success of their students.
The HPCA residential academy in Dharamshala was founded in 2009 to provide specialized coaching for women's cricket.
The academy has produced four international cricketers, including two World Cup winners, Renuka Thakur and Harleen Deol.
The academy houses more than 20 players from 16 different districts in Himachal Pradesh, focusing on Under-16 and Under-19 age groups.
The academy addresses unique challenges faced by young women in sports, including emotional and safety concerns.
The academy has moved to different locations, including a local cricket ground in Kangra, to provide more playing opportunities for the girls.
