Delhi PWD to Hire 200 Anti-Smog Guns for Air Pollution Control
Imagine Delhi has a really dusty air problem, like when you stir up a lot of dust.
To help clean the air, the city's PWD is going to rent special big machines called anti-smog guns.
These machines are like big water sprayers on trucks.
They will spray tiny water droplets high into the air, like a fine mist.
This mist helps to make the dust fall down, so it's not floating in the air anymore.
They are hiring 200 of these machines for five months during the time when the air usually gets very dusty.
The machines need to be able to spray water pretty far and wide, and the water needs to be in very small drops to work best.
This is a new plan to make the air cleaner for everyone in Delhi.
Delhi's Public Works Department (PWD) is hiring 200 anti-smog guns.
The initiative aims to combat air pollution by spraying water to settle dust and suspended particles.
A budget of Rs 5.88 crore has been approved for hiring these machines for five months.
The anti-smog guns will operate in two 8-hour shifts daily across all 11 zones of the PWD.
The hired machines must meet specific technical requirements for water spray distance, rotation, tilting, and droplet size.
