Telangana to Modernize Voter Rolls Using Death Data
The Telangana government is working on making voter lists more accurate and up-to-date.
They plan to automatically remove deceased people from the lists by getting death information from local government offices.
They are also looking into letting people link their Aadhaar cards to their voter ID, which could help fix any mistakes in their information.
This is to make sure the voter lists are correct and easy to use.
The Election Commission is also moving voting machines from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to other states that are having elections.
The Telangana CEO is updating voter lists with death registration data from local bodies.
Linking Aadhaar to voter IDs is being considered but remains optional.
EROs can access death registration data digitally to update electoral rolls.
BLO's will verify the data before deletion.
Aadhaar can be used to correct voter details through Mee Seva centers.
