US Destroys Chabahar Port Surveillance Tower
The United States recently attacked and destroyed a surveillance tower at Chabahar Port in Iran.
This tower was used by Iran's military group, the IRGC, to watch and sometimes target ships passing through a very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz.
The US said this action was to protect ships and keep the sea routes open.
Iran confirmed the tower was destroyed but said the rest of the port is still working.
The attack also hit other places in Iran, causing many people to get hurt or killed.
Chabahar Port is very important for trade in the region and also for India, which uses it to reach other countries without going through Pakistan.
US forces destroyed a surveillance tower at Chabahar Port in Iran, targeting IRGC's maritime surveillance network.
The strike aimed to degrade IRGC's ability to coordinate attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran confirmed the tower's destruction but stated that the port's operational infrastructure remained intact and functional.
The attack was part of a broader wave of US strikes across multiple Iranian provinces, resulting in at least 38 deaths and over 400 injuries.
Chabahar Port is strategically significant for regional trade and serves as a key gateway for India to access Afghanistan and Central Asia.
